Content Policy

Sayo Academy is an educational platform for teachers, schools, and students. Shared content must be appropriate for a school environment and lawful in Hong Kong, including under the Hong Kong National Security Law and other applicable law. This policy protects learners, educators, and the integrity of the Service.

This policy applies whenever you set visibility to organisation / institution or public for library items such as interactive apps, PDFs/documents, slides, spreadsheets, and interactive agents. Private drafts that only you can access are not subject to the automated publish screen described below, but they remain subject to these Terms and applicable law.

You must not publish content that includes or promotes any of the following:

• Sexual or pornographic content — including sexually explicit or sexually suggestive material. Sexualisation of minors is strictly prohibited.
• Partisan political campaigning — electioneering, activist recruitment, or one-sided political advocacy unsuitable for shared school use (academic civics and news literacy taught as study are addressed in §4).
• Hong Kong national security risks — content that advocates, instructs, or glorifies secession, subversion of state power, terrorist activities, or collusion with foreign forces, or that otherwise breaches the Hong Kong National Security Law.
• Hate or discrimination — attacks based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, sex, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or similar protected characteristics.
• Graphic violence, self-harm, or weapons how-to — including suicide encouragement and instructions for making weapons or explosives.
• Illegal activity — facilitating drug manufacture, fraud, unauthorised hacking, piracy, or other crimes.
• Bullying, harassment, or doxxing — targeted harassment or publishing others’ private personal data without a lawful basis.
• Extremism — glorification of terrorism or violent extremist ideologies outside a clear historical/academic framing.
• Gambling and adult commercial content — casinos, wagering products, or adult commercial services aimed at or inappropriate for learners.
• Dangerous misinformation for minors — for example medical claims presented as fact that could cause serious harm if followed.

Age-appropriate educational material may discuss sensitive topics when clearly framed for learning. Examples include curriculum-aligned sex education, biology and health; history, civics, and news literacy taught academically (not as campaigning); and fictional stories with mild conflict that do not depict graphic harm. When in doubt, keep the material private or revise it before sharing with your organisation or the public.

Before you publish to your organisation or to the public, you must affirmatively confirm that your content complies with this Content Policy and our Terms of Service. That confirmation is a condition of publishing shared content.

We may use automated systems (including AI models) to screen shared content for policy risks, and designated moderators may review, unpublish, or replace violating items. Screens are imperfect: passing a check does not guarantee compliance, and you remain responsible for what you publish. We may also act on reports from users or schools.

If content violates this policy or applicable law, we may refuse publication, remove or replace the item (including with a policy-removal notice), restrict sharing, suspend or terminate accounts, and cooperate with schools or authorities where required. Repeated or severe violations may result in permanent loss of access.

If you believe shared content violates this policy, contact us at contact@sayo.ai with a link or identifier for the content and a short description of the concern. School administrators may also escalate through their organisation contacts.

This Content Policy forms part of your agreement to use the Service, together with the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. If there is a conflict on content rules, the more specific restriction for shared educational content applies.

This Content Policy is governed by the laws of Hong Kong. We operate from Unit 803, 8/F, Lai Cheong Factory Building, 479 Castle Peak Rd, Cheung Sha Wan, Hong Kong.

We may update this Content Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of shared publishing features after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
