Sayo Academy operates the Service. We are based in Hong Kong at Unit 803, 8/F, Lai Cheong Factory Building, 479 Castle Peak Rd, Cheung Sha Wan, Hong Kong. For any privacy questions or requests, contact us at contact@sayo.ai.

We collect the following categories of information:

• Account information — name, email address, and profile details, managed through our authentication provider when you sign up or sign in.
• Content you create — classrooms, materials, quizzes, assignments, and other content you or your students generate within the Service.
• Usage information — how you interact with the Service, including features used, pages visited, and diagnostic/log data, used to operate and improve the Service.
• Google user data — where you choose to connect Google Classroom or Google Drive, the specific data described in the section below.

When you connect your Google account, we request only the access needed for the features you use. We may request the following, and use each only for the stated purpose:

• Google Classroom (courses, rosters, coursework, and announcements, read-only) — to import your courses into rooms, and their coursework, announcements, and roster into materials, when you initiate an import.
• Google Drive — using the narrow drive.file scope, we can access only the individual files you explicitly select through the Google Picker. We do not have visibility into the rest of your Drive. Selected files are imported into the Service as learning materials.
• Google Forms (read-only) — to convert a linked Google Forms quiz into a Sayo quiz when you import Classroom coursework.

We do not use Google user data for advertising, we do not sell it, and we do not use it to train generalized artificial-intelligence or machine-learning models. You can revoke our access at any time from your Google Account permissions.

Sayo Academy’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

We use the information we collect to:

• provide, maintain, and improve the Service;
• authenticate you, secure your account, and prevent fraud or abuse;
• generate the educational content and features you request, including AI-assisted tools;
• respond to your requests and provide support; and
• comply with legal obligations.

Your data is stored using industry-standard cloud infrastructure with access controls and encryption in transit. Uploaded files are held in private, access-controlled storage, and any Google access tokens are encrypted and never exposed to other users. We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service and to meet legal obligations.

We share information with trusted third-party providers only to the extent necessary to operate the Service — for example, authentication, database and file storage, hosting, and AI model providers. These providers process data on our behalf under their own privacy commitments. We do not sell your personal data.

The Service is designed for use by teachers and schools. Where a teacher or school uses the Service with students, that teacher or school directs the processing of student information, and student data is used only to deliver the educational features of the Service. We do not use student data for advertising.

We use cookies and similar technologies that are necessary to operate the Service, keep you signed in, and remember your preferences (such as language). You can control cookies through your browser settings, though disabling some may affect functionality.

Subject to the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance of Hong Kong and other applicable law, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, and you may withdraw consent to processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at contact@sayo.ai.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above, and material changes will be communicated through the Service where appropriate.
