Learn how to create assignments in the Assignments library, including grading options like max points, marking schemes, and feedback preferences, then send them to classrooms with a due date. Not the Materials lessons library.
Assignments are tasks or activities students submit — worksheets, projects, quizzes, and similar work.
They’re stored in your Assignments library (sidebar: Assignments; page title: Assignments Library), separate from My Materials (lessons only).
When you create an assignment you choose how it should be graded: points, an optional marking guide, and how much written feedback students see on the graded PDF.
You can also create an assignment from a classroom’s Assignments tab — see Classroom Assignments.

Once you’re creating an assignment, you’ll typically see:
Take a moment on the title and description — they show up in your library and in the classroom, so clear wording saves confusion later.
On the same form you can set how the assignment should be marked. You don’t need every field — start simple and add more detail when it helps.

The goal is to tell the grading assistant how you like to mark — so when students submit, you get a helpful draft you can edit before sharing.
You can change these options later by editing the assignment from the Assignments Library or from a classroom.

After filling out your assignment details:
Your saved assignments appear on the Assignments Library page in card or list view, depending on your preference.
When you’re ready for students to see the work:
Students will see the assignment under Homework in that class.
Teachers manage the same items under the classroom Assignments tab.
You can send the same assignment to multiple classrooms without re-uploading it.
