Learn how to add, manage, and review classroom AI tools and view reports on student interactions.

What is the AI Tools Tab?

The AI Tools tab allows teachers to integrate and manage AI-powered activities within a classroom.
These tools can range from AI quizzes and practice bots to content helpers and tutoring assistants.

From this tab, you can:

  • Add new or existing AI tools
  • View reports summarizing student interactions
  • Edit or remove AI assistants from the classroom

Accessing the AI Tools Tab

  1. Go to My Classroom.
  2. Click on a classroom card to open it.
  3. Select the AI Tools tab from the navigation bar at the top.

Page Overview

Inside the AI Tools tab, you’ll see:

  • A summary area displaying the total number of active tools
  • A + Add AI Tool button
  • A grid of AI Tool cards representing each assistant
  • A three-dot (⋯) menu for each tool to manage or remove them

Each card can also be clicked directly to view an AI tool’s performance report.

Adding an AI Tool

Click the + Add AI Tool button to open two options:

1. Create New Tool

A short UI overview of the creation form:

  • Samples row at the top (tap to prefill examples).
  • Tool Configuration area: required Tool Name field, visibility radios (Private / Public / Institution), and a short Description textarea.
  • Educational Context section (collapsible): dropdowns for Curriculum Standards, Subject, Education Level, Difficulty, and Language.
  • Detailed Instructions: a large prompt/system-text area where you write the AI’s behavior plus an option to attach PDFs or images.
  • Create Tool action appears bottom-right.
  • There’s also a small Chatbot Mode toggle visible in the UI header on some screens.

Brief: the form is focused on naming/visibility, optional educational metadata, and a detailed instruction/prompt area — everything you need to define the tool’s behavior and scope. Once saved the tool is added to the classroom and your private library.

2. Add from Library

You can import AI tools from three library sources:

  • Public Library – shared tools available to all educators
  • Institute Library – tools made available within your organization or school
  • Private Library – tools you personally created or saved

Steps:

  1. Click Add from Library.
  2. Browse through the available AI tools in your preferred library section.
  3. Use the circle checkboxes to select one or more tools.
  4. Click Add Selected to attach them to your classroom.

After confirmation, the chosen AI tools will appear in the classroom’s list.

Viewing AI Tool Reports

Click on any AI Tool card to open its Usage Summary View.
This report displays insights into how students are interacting with the tool.

Depending on the type of AI tool, you may see:

  • Interaction Count – how many times students used it
  • Engagement Trends – most active users or sessions over time
  • Quiz Performance (for quiz-type tools) – summary of average scores or completion rates
  • Common Prompts/Responses – recurring topics or challenges students ask about
  • AI Feedback Summary – key insights generated from student usage

💡 The data helps teachers understand how effectively students are using AI tools for learning.

Managing AI Tools Inside a Classroom

Each AI Tool card includes a three-dot (⋯) menu for quick management actions.

1. Edit Assistant

Click Edit Assistant to modify the AI tool’s configuration.
You’ll be redirected to the Interactive Tools form where you can update:

  • Prompts or behavior
  • Name and description
  • Access rules or advanced settings

⚠️ Just like other resources, editing an AI tool here will also update it across all classrooms and libraries where it’s used.

2. Remove from Room

Click Remove from Room to detach the AI tool from this classroom.
The tool remains available in your Private, Institute, or Public library for future reuse.

Tips for Managing Classroom AI Tools

  • Mix tool types (quiz, tutor, feedback bot) to keep learning dynamic.
  • Review the AI Tool Summary Reports regularly to track engagement.
  • Encourage students to interact actively with these tools — AI tutors can identify learning gaps early.
  • Update your tool prompts often to keep the activities relevant to your current lessons.
