Understanding Personal vs. School Accounts

There are two types of accounts you can use in Sayo Academy:

  • Personal Account:
    This is your own account. When you use this, you will use your personal credits.

  • School or Institution Account:
    If your school or organization is partnered with Sayo Academy, you will automatically have access to a school or institution account.
    When you use this account, you will be using the credits provided by your school or institution.
    You can check how these credits are used by going to School Settings and looking at your Credit History.

You can switch between these accounts anytime — for example, if you want to use your personal credits for practice, or your school credits for classwork.

How to Switch Accounts

You can easily switch between your personal and school accounts from the Sayo Academy homepage.

Step-by-Step:

  1. Go to the homepage.
  2. Look at the sidebar on the left side of the page.
  3. At the very top, under the app name "Sayo Academy", you will see your current account name (for example, “Personal Account” or your school’s name).
  4. If it says “Personal Account”, click on it.
  5. A small menu will appear showing your available profiles.
  6. If your school or institution is registered, you will see its name listed there.
  7. Click on your school or institution name to switch to that account.

You have now successfully switched to your school account!
Your credits and access will automatically change to your school’s balance.

How to Turn Off Auto-Switch

By default, once you are registered under a school or institution, Sayo Academy will automatically switch you to that school account when you log in.

If you prefer to stay on your personal account (or switch manually later), you can turn off this auto-switch feature.

Here’s how:

  1. Go to the homepage.
  2. Open the sidebar on the left.
  3. Scroll to the bottom of the sidebar, and click the ⚙️ Settings button.
  4. A settings panel will appear on the right side of the page.
  5. Scroll down until you find the section called “Organization & Account.”
  6. Look for the option that says “Auto-switch to Organization.”
  7. Turn this option off.

Once this is off, Sayo Academy will no longer switch you automatically to your school account.
You’ll stay on whichever account you last used — personal or school — until you manually change it.
